Lipoedema UK March 2021 Update

NICE Campaign

Lipoedema UK have been very busy the last couple of weeks launching their NICE Campaign. On last week’s exclusive Health and Wellbeing session our guest speakers Dr Mojtaba Ghods and Dr Lakovos Georgiou from the Potsdam Lipoedema Research Group (Germany) gave a fascinating and informative presentation on their long term results of Liposuction and Lipoedema.

The Potsdam team have been treating Lipoedema patients for over a decade and have recently published a ten year retrospective analysis relating to their work. 106 patients who underwent a total of 298 liposuction procedures demonstrated a significant reduction of lipedema- associated symptoms.  You can view their report – Disease progression and comorbidities in lipedema patients: A 10 year retrospective analysis here

For those Lipoedema UK members who were unable to join us (and those who would like to watch the presentation again) we are pleased to announce the opportunity to view a special recording of our last weeks session on Tuesday 30th March 6:15-7:15pm.
